Not sure what Psychic Telephone is all about? Check out our first and second posts for an introduction to the project. Read our first post about Tanya here.
Tanya’s larger worldview, she says, would be that we’re all here to grow. She thinks the ultimate purpose in life on Earth is to grow and learn—and grow spiritually. It’s why we’re here on the planet. She believes that we have many lives, and that you set up your life before you’re born. Each of us, as a soul, makes agreements with people before we incarnate. Before we come here. We choose—with God, with our guides, with whoever—what lessons we want to learn. You know, This lifetime I want to work on forgiveness. Or communication, or—fill in the blank.
And so there are people in our soul groups who sign up to help us work on those agreements. And typically it’s the people we have the biggest soul connection with who give us the hardest lessons. The abusive father. The angry mother, like she had. Agreements are hefty. But there are also agreements where we have to heal one another. We’ve all worn the black hat, we’ve all worn the white hat. So it’s not about going into, They’re wrong, I’m right. It’s about going into compassion and forgiveness, and understanding that this is part of my agreement.
And this means that a psychic isn’t going to have the same connection with everyone. The truth is, you can walk into any metaphysical fair and half the people there you may not resonate with. You can call it karma, or—she thinks it’s about finding the person you’re in agreement with. The person who’s right for you. And that’s what happens when her Level 3 students give readings. Usually two or three students read the same person together, taking turns. And sometimes afterward, one student feels like the client was so open and is like, They were so easy to read! And the other student didn’t feel the same. It’s not the same agreement, you know.

And because of her scientific background, studying environmental sciences and geography as an undergraduate, she does believe that psychic stuff can be scientifically explained. Or will be soon. She’s noticed there are different brain institutes popping up, and research in colleges in her area where they are actually promoting meditation and alternative ways of healing. And starting to really get into how the brain works. Like every time you meditate, you’re creating more serotonin, more dopamine, more neural pathways that help you create change in your life and let go of bad habits. And if you know the brain, the third eye, the center of your head, is right where the pineal gland is. It’s a tiny, tiny little gland that kind of looks like a pinecone. And there are actually rods and cones in your pineal gland just like in your eyeballs. And that’s the spot where the sixth chakra lies—your imagination, your intuition, your psychic ability. So she thinks science is catching up. It’s just, they’re working on it.
But there are some things, she knows, that we just have to take on faith. Totally. When it’s non-physical, it requires a leap. You have to have faith, or belief, to be able to see it and accept it. And she has taught total cynics—people coming in like, I don’t believe this shit. My wife told me to come here. She kind of equates it to an AA program. An alcoholic going to AA, they’re usually like, I don’t know. But then the more they kind of practice with it, that divinity—or that holiness, that sacredness, that hope, that faith—starts to become part of their life. And it doesn’t mean they’re going to become some sort of rah-rah woo-woo spiritual healer, but it is a certain amount of—of magic. Of that non-tangible. It’s opening up from seeing just the physical, to kind of looking back and seeing more than just the physical. Which, sometimes, is a miracle.
